Ponder over this:
{“Shall We inform you of the greatest losers in respect of their deeds? Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that they were acquiring good by their deeds!”} [al-Kahf; 103-104]
…and this hadith:
“If a man were to be dragged on his face from the day he was born until the day he dies in order to please Allah, then on the Day of Resurrection, he will not consider this to have been sufficient to gain Allah’s Pleasure.”
['Sahih al-Jami''; # 5249]
…and this statement of Ibn Taymiyyah:
“Verily, I constantly renew my Islam until this very day, as up to now, I do not consider myself to have ever been a good Muslim.”
[Narrated by Ibn al-Qayyim in 'Madarij as-Salikin'; 1/218]
And we think we’re something…

There were two men who reared this lion from a baby in England but the authorities would not allow them to keep it once it reached maturity, so they were forced to give it up. They took it back to Africa and placed it in a wildlife sanctuary.
A year later they went to see it and were told it would not remember them…

It will come so sudden without warning and will seal the end of our lives on this planet. The angel of death will not take your schedule into consideration and will neither make an appointment. You will not be briefed prior to your departure nor will you have any say in your travel itinerary. The only thing you can take are your good deeds so will you not take heed and prepare for this great journey?

“The cities in [Spain]… the descriptions that come in the literature are beautiful descriptions of people being able to live, what I would call, in a holistic fashion. They were able to develop science in such a way that the science did not destroy the environment.”

Here Dr. Abdullah Hakim Quick, the first American graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah, presents the Muslim contribution to modern civilization and their influence during their 700 year rule in Al-Andulus (present-day Spain).
Topics of discussion include the Muslim contribution to geography, navigation, astronomy, physics, medicine, chemistry, mathematics and pharmacology as well as the early history of Muslims in the Americas. This extensive survey also analyzes the reasons why Muslim Spain declined from its status as a “wonder of the world” to a lost treasure which is lamented to this day.
